Joshua Holness

Joshua Holness aka Rtkal aka Rtillery aka RT is a rapper, actor and spoken word artist from Birmingham.

At just 12 years old he was signed to Robert Plant’s M.A.S Records as part of a Hip Hop group called Prophecy Cru, and at 15 RT’s captivating perfomance skills were first recognised by Punch Records, a Birmingham based music development agency. At the age of 16, Holness and the newly formed Decypher Collective opened the show in Amsterdam at the Black Soil Film Festival, pioneering the groundbreaking concept of grime theatre.

RT has supported and shared the stage with a number of legendary performers from Hip Hop originators Kurtis Blow and The Furious Five right through to present day stars such as Faithless, Sway and Wu Tang Clan. He’s performed at an array of venues across the UK including The Birmingham Repertory Theatre, O2 ABC Glasgow, Royal Festival Hall and many more.

He is currently recording an EP and also hosts many dubstep/grime raves under the name ‘RTillery’, being a crowd favourite at many local and national club nights.

Josh has been touring with Decypher Collective this summer, including festival performances and numerous sell-out shows, and will bring his solo spoken word material to the stage with the All Stars in Birmingham on 20 November 2010.
