The Poetry in the Built Environment event was held in February 2008, in the magnificent German Gymnasium, which is located within the rapidly evolving King's Cross area in central London. There was a lively discussion about the potential of text-based art to enliven people's appreciation of poetry and also an exploration of the exciting installations which have already been created around the country. The specific aspirations of the poets, visual artists and designers for a new poetic landscape at King's Cross itself were also touched upon.
Lucy Clouting spoke to the panel about this emerging art form, which offers an exciting synergy of visual stimulation and poetic enlightenment.
