school placements
In 2007 Poet in the City has run a successful programme of six poetry placements in primary and secondary schools in Tower Hamlets. These were delivered by Learning Through The Arts (LTTA), and supported by Lloyd's of London.
The following schools received placements:
- Blue Gate Fields Infants school;
- Canon Barnett Primary School;
- Sir John Cass Primary School;
- Bethnal Green Technology College; and
- Sir John Cass Secondary School.
The poet educators involved were David Neita, Ife Pianku, Clare Pollard, Jo Roach and Coral Rumble.
With the help of Lloyd's we hope to be running another poetry placement shortly at Virginia Primary School as part of the Arnold Circus regeneration project.
Poet in the City wuill shortly be running a brand new programme of poetry placements in 5-7 schools in Leeds and Birmingham. These will be delivered through LTTA in the early part of 2008.
