A Meat of the Tongue series event that focused on poetry about physical and mental disfigurement and its healing.

The poets featured at this event were:

Roddy Lumsden, one of the UK's most gifted lyrical poets, whose work often explores the tension between conventional ideas of body and self and their disfiguration.

Aofie Mannix, talented poet and performer whose poetry often addresses the body, and body perception.

Luke Kennard, a successful younger poet, whose work offers surreal perspectives on the body, and on poetry.

Ben Gwalchmai conducted interviews with the poets as well as Brendan Healey from the Healing Foundation and Tom Hoyle who works for a charity for children with facial disfigurements in East Africa which you can find here.
