A special poetry reading with acclaimed poet Wendy Cope to celebrate the launch of the Poetry Portraits project.

Poetry Portraits is a unique collaborative project celebrating contemporary poets through fine art, and exploring conversations between the art forms. 10 leading poets are being painted by Lavender Hill Studios, and the sittings will be captured in a series of fantastic and eye opening short films. Featuring interviews, poetry and the live portrait experience, these films will provide a fascinating insight into the project.

Wendy Cope’s first collection of poems, Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis, was published in 1986, and in 1987 she received a Cholmondeley Award for Poetry. Two Cures for Love: Selected Poems 1979-2006 was published in 2008. In 2010 she was awarded an O.B.E.

Her most recent collection of work, Family Values, was published by Faber in 2011.
