Curious? Festival

29th August 2015 11:00
Kings Cross
11 Stable Street London
Poet in the City is delighted to be bringing poetry to Curious? - a free weekend festival of knowledge and learning that will explode all over King’s Cross during the August bank holiday weekend.

The festival will feature everything from workshops and talks to family-friendly music and dance. Wander through a maze of discovery and encounter live experiments, weird and wonderful music, and unexpected pop-up performances. All activities are completely free and there will be something for everyone!

4pm on Sunday 30th August  - The Salon, Lewis Cubitt Square

A fantastic public performance in which leading spoken word poets tackle today’s burning political issues head on. Join Dean Atta, Caroline Bird, Deanna Roger and Anthony Anaxagorou as they bring poetry back to the public square and throw some rhythm and a spotlight on the politics of today. Austerity, gender, human rights; you name it, they’ve got something to say about it.

Come and share some magical family fun with two award winning children's poets, in partnership with CLPE. Joseph Coelho invites you to join him in a fantastic interactive family performance of poems from his collection The Werewolf Club Rules. And Kathy Henderson will lead you on an amazing poetic adventure into Kings Cross. What kind of city can you see? Where does your imagination take you?
