Jack Rooke takes to the stage for an achingly funny and uplifting poetry-cum-comedy performance ahead of the Laugh for Leukaemia event at Kings Place. This is a free pop-up showcasing vibrant poetry and offers a fresh take on stand-up and storytelling.

Jack is a comedian, poet and campaigner. He is the resident on-air expert in bereavement and mental heath for BBC Radio 1's Surgery and hosts The Guardian Literary Institute at Camp Bestival and The Arts Amphitheatre at Bestival. He has created work for The Independent, BBC Radio 4, The Guardian, Huffington Post and Channel 4 as both a comedian and an ambassador male suicide prevention charity CALM.

Taking inspiration from the evening’s music, these free events showcase vibrant new poetry and provide a fresh take on everything from storytelling to stand up. A brand new way to experience poetry and music, and a fantastic start to your evening at Kings Place.
