A highlight of our year was the launch of Newcastle Herstory: a pre-lockdown event diving into feminist history and contemporary movements for gender equality across the city. This sold-out event took place at Newcastle City Library, hosted by Salma El-Wardany. We heard from Penny Remfry, Mwenza Blell, Karen Ross and Laura Seebolm.

The event formed the launch of Collections in Verse: Newcastle, bringing together poets, exhibition curators and local communities to tell stories inspired by the British Library's exhibition programme. We’re collaborating with Newcastle-based Degna Stone, Ellen Moran and Sky Hawkins.

We look forward to revealing more in 2021...
