During the summer of 2020, three poets (Daljit Nagra, Momtaza Mehri and Quddous Ahmed) spoke to members of the community in Hounslow, London, to put together Connected Through the Unknown: A Hounslow COVID Archive.

A year on from our conversations, we’d like to invite participants back to a special session to connect with other locals who contributed their words and stories, hear the poems read out loud, and reflect on the year gone by.

The workshop will be facilitated by poet Anthony Anaxagorou. We will also be joined by Karen Simecek of Warwick University, who is undertaking a piece of research around the ethics of re-voicing words in poetry. Ahead of the workshop, participants will be sent the poems inspired by the conversations in Hounslow, with a request to take some time to read these out loud before the session.

If you'd like to attend and are based in Hounslow, please send an email to [email protected] for full details.
