‘Pickle Juice’ is a soundscape project by La Intrusa exploring the voices of marginalised femininity, using archival sampling and ambient textures. Comprising of two contrasting tracks, the bright Amanecer and the brooding Tenebrosa, this work aims to create a tapestry of voices belonging those who exist on the edges of womanhood - or are denied it entirely. This piece showcases their urgency to communicate, portraying anguish, hope, rage and tenderness amidst the din of social scrutiny and mistrust that often drowns out the voices of gender non-conforming bodies. To be heard for a moment, however brief it may be, so that a trace remains when we are silent once again.
